As I reflect on the origins of Polly, I’m transported back to my childhood, watching my grandmother (Polly) work her magic in the Strong household. Born in 1935, she grew up in a world that demanded hard work and resilience. These are the values that shaped not only her character but the very foundation of Polly today.
Mr. Strong, a prosperous factory owner, lived in a magnificent house perched atop the hill. It was there that I witnessed the birth of what would become Polly’s core values.
Polly always arrived precisely on time, her punctuality a testament to her professionalism. As she tidied the kitchen, I marveled at her efficiency. It was as if a fairy had waved her wand, transforming the chaos left by the family’s busy schedule into pristine order.
I often questioned why she went to such lengths, like vacuuming behind the sofa where no one would see. But these seemingly small gestures didn’t go unnoticed by the Strongs. Polly’s attention to detail and commitment to excellence became the cornerstone of Polly’s ethos.
One day, Mr. Strong happened to be home during Polly’s shift. She carefully avoided being seen, not wanting to disturb his routine – a level of consideration we’ve instilled in all of Polly’s staff. I remember Mr. Strong offering me what seemed like a fortune to a young boy – five pounds to wash his Rolls-Royce. As I scrubbed those enormous alloy wheels, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride. I imagined Mr. Strong’s impressed reaction, though I knew I might never see it.

If you would like to make any changes to your subscription, like adding additional hours, this is no problem at all. Please contact our customer service team as they are on hand to help with any questions or updates to your booking.
How do you select the right housekeeper for me?
We match you with housekeepers on our platform based on your location, schedule, specific cleaning requirements, and the size of your home.
The Polly difference is that we won’t just pick any housekeeper, we will choose someone who we think will suit you specifically. They will be in your home each week, so it has to work for you!
Can I meet my housekeeper before committing to regular housekeeping?
Absolutely! We encourage a meeting between you and your housekeeper prior to your first appointment to ensure you’re completely comfortable before your subscription commences.
Are there any additional charges that we have to pay?
No, there are no additional charges to your subscription. You are paying for your housekeeper’s time and our service fee for matching you through the platform. The only extra cost would be for any additional time you agree on directly with your housekeeper.
If you want to change or add tasks, this may take extra time, but your housekeeper will update the service with your agreement.
